Going Through The Motions

There are times in my life and in the lives of all believers when we feel like we are just going through the motions. In those times we can depend upon God to keep His promises. We don”t always need to have good feelings. Our feelings can be undependable. Our flesh is the part of us that wants to always have good feelings. Our flesh wants a thrill a minute. What we need is a good, powerful and faithful God who never just goes through the motions and it will be a great help to know and remember His promises. And He has made many of them. When we need to have a good feeling, or a bad feeling, He knows what we need and He provides it. When we have sinned we should have a bad feeling so that we will confess the sin and forsake it.

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Psalms 37:23: The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Psalms 37:24: Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Hebrews 13:5: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Lamentations 3:22: It is of the LORD”S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Isaiah 41:10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Ephesians 5:25: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

2 Corinthians 4:15: For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Philippians 3:12: Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 1:5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Isaiah 26:3: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

A believer should forget about his feelings and keep his mind on his God.
